The Heme Onc Call Infusion Center is located inside the office of Dr. Stacey Robinson (primary care physician). When you come in the building, take the elevator on the right (South Tower) to the 9th Floor.

Directly across the street from this restaurant you will see a parking garage entrance with a sign that says Northern Trust (scroll down to see images). Drive straight through the garage then turn left in the open lot. Do not go into the garage. The parking spots say “Dr. Robinson.”

Entrance to free reserved parking is located on the 2nd Street South (NOT Ave) between 2nd Ave and 4th Ave South. Look for the sign below. Enter and drive straight through to open area, then turn left, once out of covered garage area.

Reserved spots for Robison MD will be on your left.

Expectations After an Iron Infusion

  • You can return to your normal activities immediately.

  • You can go back to work after your infusion if you feel up to it.

  • You may have mild side effects right after the infusion including:

    • temporary changes in the way you taste food and drinks

    • headaches

    • nausea and vomiting

    • muscle and joint pain

    • shortness of breath

    • itchiness and rash

    • increased or decreased blood pressure or heart rate

    • burning sensation or swelling at the site of the injection

    • change in the color of your urine

  • You may experience some mild side effects for 1-2 days after your iron infusion, such as a metallic taste in your mouth, joint pain, nausea, or vomiting.

  • If you experience chest pain, dizziness, mouth swelling, or difficulty breathing in the days following an iron infusion, call 911 immediately or report to the nearest emergency room.

  • Ideally, the symptoms a person experiences due to low iron levels will start to resolve as the amount of iron in the blood increase. This can take several weeks as the iron infusions help to re-build a person’s iron stores.
